May 2024 Newsletter

Welcome to the CEP Toronto Newsletter! CEP is a volunteer-powered organization that strives to create opportunities for communities to collaborate and learn, ultimately driving sustainability and climate action.

🎉 Did you know:

According to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), 7 countries now generate almost all their electricity from renewable energy: Albania, Bhutan, Nepal, Paraguay, Iceland, Ethiopia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. 40 more countries generate at least 50% of their electricity from renewable energy - and Canada’s one of them!

CEP Update

Longer days, warmer nights - May is a month for visiting new places and people. CEP is hosting our first event of the year later this month, and we hope to see you there as we talk about sustainable built environments.

We also hope to see you at the many other sustainability events happening in May. We’ve been ramping up our communications team and we’re pleased as punch to start a new event calendar series. Every month, CEP’s communications team will scour through our network to curate an eclectic list of green events in Toronto and beyond, with a focus on free or affordable events. We want to showcase the diversity and energy of Canada’s environmental professional community and provide a one-stop shop for people to get involved.

This month we’ve found more than 20 events that we think the CEP community would enjoy - we’re featuring our favorite 4 events here, and we’ve posted the rest of them on our blog. If you or your organization have an event you’d like to feature, e-mail us at ceptoronto@gmail.com and we can share it with our 900+ newsletter subscribers!
