Confirmed Panel Speakers:

Danielle Pal
Director of Sustainability at Onex, where she leads ESG integration across the firm’s investment platforms. She works closely with investment teams and portfolio companies to embed sustainability into investment decision-making, value creation, and reporting. Prior to joining Onex, Danielle was part of the Sustainable Investing team at Canada’s largest asset owner, where she developed ESG and climate frameworks, led corporate engagements, and supported ESG integration across all asset classes. She also serves on the Board of Directors at University Settlement, a Toronto-based non-profit serving diverse communities.

Devon Fernandes
Devon completed his Master’s in Community Psychology at Wilfrid Laurier University and now works as Definity Financial Corporation’s Sr. Sustainability Integration Manager where he integrates sustainability into insurance products and services. Prior to working at Definity, Devon co-founded the KW Library of Things – a space where community members can borrow infrequently used items, like camping gear, instead of buying it new.

Sameen Ahmed
Sameen is a Senior Analyst at Morningstar Sustainalytics, where she leads second-party opinion engagements for green, social, sustainable, and sustainability-linked debt instruments. In this role, she assesses the potential environmental and social impacts of these instruments and evaluates their alignment with the EU Taxonomy, science-based decarbonization pathways, and industry best practices. Sameen’s previous experience includes roles in investment planning at a multinational company, as well as positions in corporate banking and equity research.
