Join us for an enlightening panel discussion titled "Electric Vehicles Driving a Sustainable Future", with Cara Clairman (CEO, Plug'N Drive), Rebecca Black (Founder, Black Current Marketing) and Emma Jarratt (Executive Editor, Electric Autonomy Canada)!

EV users and thought leaders from the automotive industry, environmental organizations, and clean energy sector will come together for this engaging event. Moderated by a renowned journalist in the EV industry, the panel will feature a diverse range of perspectives, including Rebecca Black who recently completed a remarkable road trip across Canada in an electric pickup truck.

This engaging event will explore the transformative power of EVs and the various ways they are driving us towards a more sustainable future. Moderator: Emma Jarratt

Emma Jarratt is an investigative multimedia journalist based in Toronto. Emma is the Executive Editor of Electric Autonomy Canada and previously freelanced in print and broadcast, specifically concentrating on investigations, health, the green energy and transportation sector, conflicts and politics.

Speaker 1: Maureen Shuell

Maureen Shuell is the Chief Operating Officer of Electric Mobility Canada, national membership-based, not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing the transition to electric mobility to fight climate change and stimulate the Canadian economy. She is responsible for operations; governance; strategic planning; business development; and she also supports government relations and stakeholder activities.

She sits on the board of directors of Accelerate: Canada’s ZEV Supply Chain Alliance, and is a director on the board of Autonomous Transportation Canada, a national association she founded in 2019.

Speaker 2: Rebecca Black

Rebecca Black will report back from her #NoTailpipe cross Canada road trip in an all electric Ford F150 Lightning. Rebecca is an eco-entrepreneur and designer committed to developing collaborative, systemic, human centred solutions to the climate crisis. She is the founder of Black Current Marketing, co-Founder of dESiGning ESG™ and Women in Renewable Energy WiRE, and a board member at TREC Renewable Energy Coop and Tapestry Community Capital.

Speaker 3: Cara Clairman

Cara Clairman is President and CEO of Plug'n Drive, a non-profit that is accelerating the deployment of electric vehicles (EVs) to maximize their environmental and economic benefits. Cara has taken Plug’n Drive from an idea to a thriving non-profit, recognized as a leader in the EV space. Focused on accelerating EV adoption through outreach and education for over 10 years, Plug'n Drive has developed a number of award winning programs to encourage consumers and fleets to make the switch from gas to electric, including the EV Discovery Centre and the Mobile EV Education Trailer (MEET). Cara has more than 25 years of experience working in the environmental and sustainability fields, including 12 years working at Ontario Power Generation, initially as OPG’s environmental lawyer and later in the role Vice President of Sustainable Development. Prior to joining OPG, Cara spent five years practicing environmental law with the Torys law firm. She holds a Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall and a Masters in Environmental Studies from York University, as well as an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from Queen’s University. Cara is the 2017 recipient of the Women in Renewable Energy’s‘Woman of the Year’ award and the 2021 winner of the Al Cormier EV leadership award from Electric Mobility Canada. She lives in a two EV household, including a Chevy Bolt and a Tesla Model 3.
